What you need in Churchill County — and what you do not
Nevada food permit / registration
RequiredNevada Division of Public and Behavioral Health registration or a state food permit is required before selling.
Under the pre-2025 law (NRS 446.866), sales must be in-person transactions only — no internet or phone sales. Products may not be sold to wholesalers, brokers, distributors, or retail establishments for resale. AB352 (2025) amends this to allow phone and internet transactions with delivery via mail or food delivery service, but product relinquishment must still occur in Nevada. Local rules vary significantly: Clark County (Las Vegas), Washoe County, Carson City, and Douglas County have separate health authority requirements.
NRS §446.866 (repealed 2025; superseded by AB352/chapter 420 & 512, Statutes of Nevada 2025) →Nevada routine kitchen inspection
Not requiredNo routine state inspection for the exemption (complaint inspection may still apply).

What Churchill County publishes for the home cottage-food path
Dollar amounts appear only when we have read them on an official page. If a cell is blank, that office has not published a flat price we can quote. Ask them before you pay. A fee that varies with sales is a percent of receipts (privilege tax / BPOL), not a sticker price. Not MEHKO, commissary, or storefront.

Local health cottage-food registration / 2025 NDA license Historically a local health-authority registration with no statewide $ . AB352 (2025) moves licensing toward the State Department of Agriculture — new fee not copied here until NDA publishes a number. $200 state business license is a separate SOS bill (LLC other-annual). | — | — | Official source → | 2026-08-19 |
