Because cottage baking is a craft, and the people doing it deserve clothes that say so. Each design started as a phrase scrawled in a baker's notebook — Open Crumb Club, Lamination Nation, Beurre Plastique — and ended on a 100% cotton crewneck that gets softer the more times you wash it after a long bake.
