How this lookup works

Do I need a separate room for the dog?

Almost never as a cottage-food building requirement. The common written rule is: pets out of the kitchen during production. A latching door on an inspected home-processor path (Virginia VDACS materials) is not the same as building a second kitchen. North Carolina Home Processor is the path that treats pets anywhere in the home as a disqualifier.
Is this a county rule or a state rule?

Mostly state-level. County pages exist because local health sometimes administers the start (California Class A/B, Alabama county approval, Massachusetts boards of health) and because our county file already stores a pet sentence. Most of those sentences just restate the state baseline. We do not invent a county pet ban when the cell is empty.
Is this about selling pet treats?

No. This lookup is household pets in a human-food kitchen. Pet-treat and pet-food rules are a different track.
Are independent cities included?
