Pets in a microbakery kitchen in Gloucester County?
New Jersey cottage-food operators are permitted and inspected. Pets in the kitchen during the inspection can fail you.
What the rule actually means
Cottage path first — then any inspected path
Cottage / exemption path
N.J.A.C. 8:24-11 creates the CFO permit. The rule set does not say “no pets may live in this house.” Inspection applies Food Code animal rules to the kitchen.
Inspected or home-bakery path
DOH inspects. Animals in food-prep areas during operations are a sanitation fail.
