Research summary

As of Sept. 1, 2025 (SB 541), packaged cottage food labels must include: the common name of the food; the name of the cottage food production operation; the address of the operation OR a unique identification number in place of the address; major allergen disclosure when allergens are present; and the exact non-inspection disclosure in the form published by DSHS. Unpackaged foods sold must provide the same information on an invoice or receipt. Operators selling time/temperature-controlled foods must also include the date the food was made. A point-of-sale sign with the same disclosure is required when food is offered for sale.
