Pets in a microbakery kitchen in Garfield County?

Colorado’s Cottage Foods Act does not mention pets. Agency guidance still treats a clean kitchen during production as the standard.

What the rule actually means

Cottage path first — then any inspected path

Cottage / exemption path

C.R.S. §25-4-1614 does not require pets out of the dwelling or a separate room. CDPHE registration is free. Good practice is to keep pets out of the kitchen while you bake.

County file restates the state baseline

Pets should be excluded from kitchen during production per good manufacturing practices; not explicitly codified in state statute but recommended.

County file notes that only restate the state baseline are not local overlays.
